The Mercy Tree Story

The Mercy Tree began with an idea from a then 8 year old, Mercy Stretton, to help kids in need have a good Christmas.

We have been honoured to support The Salvation Army Belkan House, Dodson House, and Sheway--all major charitable organizations in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver--bring Christmas to families who would otherwise go without.

Since then, the Mercy Tree has grown to include a Back-To-School Grocery Drive to help kids in low income areas have healthy snacks before heading back to school each Fall.

We are always on the lookout for more opportunities to support those already working on the DTES and it is through these connections that we began. If you have an idea or suggestion for the Mercy Tree to consider getting involved with, please send us an email--we'd love to hear from you!
